1. Standardize Charging Habits and Avoid Overcharging and Over-discharging
This is the most crucial measure to extend battery life:
Avoid over-discharging. Don't wait until the battery is completely depleted before recharging. Recharge when the charge is between 20% and 30% remaining to significantly reduce battery wear.
Avoid prolonged overcharging. Although reputable products have automatic charging stop protection, it is recommended to unplug the power cord promptly after a full charge and avoid prolonged continuous charging.
Do not charge in rainy or humid environments to prevent short circuits and leakage, which can also damage the battery's internal structure.
2. Adjust Storage and Usage Environment
Ambient temperature and humidity greatly affect battery life:
For daily storage, choose a dry and cool location. Avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures (such as in a car under direct sunlight) or low temperatures. High temperatures accelerate battery aging, while low temperatures reduce battery activity.
When not in use for extended periods, maintain the battery charge at 50%-70%. Do not store fully charged or fully discharged batteries. Recharge the battery every 3 months to prevent self-discharge and battery failure.
3. Routine Maintenance and Regular Inspection
Proper routine maintenance can detect problems early and prevent premature battery damage:
Regularly clean the battery surface, keeping the exterior and plates clean to prevent dust and stains from corroding the battery terminals and affecting conductivity.
Check the battery voltage monthly to ensure it is within the normal range. If an abnormal voltage drop is detected, promptly investigate for leakage or aging issues.
Use original chargers/charging modules whenever possible. Non-original chargers have incompatible voltage and current, which will accelerate battery wear and shorten its lifespan.
Adjust charging parameters according to ambient temperature. Reduce the charging current appropriately in low-temperature environments and ensure adequate ventilation and heat dissipation in high-temperature environments to ensure the battery operates within a suitable temperature range.
