How Often Should the Tension of the Retractable Lighthouse Guy Cables Be Adjusted?

1. Routine Maintenance Cycle

A comprehensive tension check and adjustment every 3 months is the standard maintenance requirement for industrial-grade retractable lighthouses.

Use a tension meter to measure the stress on each guy cable, ensuring the tension difference does not exceed 10% to prevent tilting or fatigue damage to the tower due to uneven stress.

2. Increased Inspection Frequency Under Special Conditions

After experiencing extreme weather such as strong winds (above level 6), heavy rain, or blizzards, the guy cable condition should be inspected immediately and the tension readjusted.

If the equipment operates for extended periods on soft ground, slopes, or in environments with high-frequency vibration, it is recommended to check every month and make minor adjustments as necessary.

3. Post-Adjustment Precautions

Use the diagonal synchronous adjustment method during adjustment, gradually tightening the turnbuckles to avoid overloading on one side.

After completion, tighten the lock nuts and use a level to check the tower's verticality to ensure overall structural stability.

4. Before and After Long-Term Storage or Transportation

Before long-term storage, the tension cable should be appropriately loosened to prevent metal fatigue; upon restarting, it must be retightened and the tension measured.

The tension cable may loosen during transportation; it should be checked and adjusted upon arrival at the work site.

Regular maintenance not only extends equipment lifespan but also effectively prevents accidents such as tipping over. It is recommended to include tension cable checks in daily maintenance records for traceability management.
